2018 Antiques + Modernism Show Hosts Kick-Off Party at MAZE Home

Earlier this year, the Woman's Board of the Winnetka Community House hosted the kick-off party for the 2018 Antiques + Modernism Show (A+M) at MAZE Home. The public was invited to join the festivities and celebrate with an array of light bites and libations, all while viewing MAZE Home's fabulous selection of home décor and gifts.

"We were so excited to officially announce the launch of the 2018 A+M show," said Amy Capocchi, a member of the Winnetka Community House's Woman's Board and co-chair of the A+M kick-off party. "MAZE Home was the perfect place to gather in anticipation of this year's Antiques + Modernism event!"

The owner of MAZE Home, Cindy Bardes Galvin, welcomed guests to her store. A generous supporter of A+M, she offered to donate 10% of all sales during the kick-off event (and throughout the entire day) to the Winnetka Community House. Cindy is an interior designer, who also owns Bardes Interiors. Her collections range from lamps and tables to unique, high-end pieces from Paris and across the globe. There is something for everyone at this spectacular home design and gift destination!

Antiques + Modernism Winnetka is a fusion of the former Winnetka Antiques Show and the Modernism Show. Since the combined show's inception in 2009, esteemed dealers from across the country flock to Winnetka to showcase fine examples of American, European, and Asian antiques, as well as pieces from the Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Mid-Century design movements. Offering a wide variety of furniture, jewelry, garden antiques, rugs, fine art and more, A+M offers something for everyone's taste and budget. This year's A+M show will take place from Friday, November 2nd through Sunday, November 4th. The Preview Party takes place on Thursday, November 1st.

All proceeds from Antiques + Modernism Winnetka Show support the programs and services of the Winnetka Community House, a non-tax supported organization. The Winnetka Community House was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places in August 2007. The Woman's Board's mission is to provide financial and volunteer support for this important community institution.

Guests including Woman’s Board committee members, local residents, and MAZE Home customers enjoyed a variety of light bites and libations, while celebrating the launch of A+M and viewing MAZE Home’s beautiful collection of home décor and gifts.

Zia Gallery Hosted Antiques + Modernism Winnetka’s Kick-off Event

On Thursday evening, May 19th, The Woman’s Board of Winnetka Community House partnered with Winnetka-based Zia Gallery for the very first time to kick off the 2016 Antiques + Modernism Winnetka Show! Guests, including Woman’s Board committee members, local Winnetka patrons and sustainers, as well as members of the Board of Governors, enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and desserts while viewing Zia Gallery’s expansive collection of art.  

In addition to announcing the official launch of the show, we were very excited to reveal this year’s guest speakers, who are among the most influential women in today’s world of interior design: Alexa Hampton, Michael Del Piero, and India Hicks.

Zia Gallery was a beautiful and inspiring venue for everyone to gather and build excitement for this year’s show. The Kick-Off Party featured welcoming remarks by this year’s chair, Kate Kilgora, who announced the many special events and activities planned for this the 2016 A + M show. The evening also included a performance by young cast members from Children’s Theatre of Winnetka’s sold out play, The Sound of Music.

On Thursday, May 19th from 6-8pm, The Woman’s Board of Winnetka Community House will be partnering with local fine art gallery Zia Gallery for the very first time to kick off the 2016 Antiques + Modernism Winnetka Show, taking place November 4-6. At the Kick-Off Party, the public is invited to join the festivities and celebrate the iconic A + M show with an array of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and desserts, while viewing Zia Gallery’s exclusive photography exhibit, which opens on May 7th.  Zia Gallery is located at 548 Chestnut Street, Winnetka.

On Thursday, November 6, The Woman's Board of Winnetka Community House kicked off Antiques + Modernism Winnetka with a highly anticipated benefit Preview Party at Winnetka Community House. More than 350 collectors, treasure hunters, interior designers and community supporters gathered for a first glimpse of this highly anticipated style and design event. Chaired by Winnetka resident Amy Swartchild, the preview party helped raise more than $100,000 to support the programs and services of Winnetka Community House, a non-tax supported organization that is dependent on a broad base of community support for its existence.

The Woman’s Board of Winnetka Community House kicked off its celebration of the 2014 Antiques + Modernism Winnetka show at local style and design flagship, Material Possessions, on May 15. Committee Members, Sustainers and Members of the Board of Governors enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and desserts while shopping for interior design treasures, tabletop staples and unique wearables. Clara Williams Company was also on hand to share their stunning jewelry trunk how. Fifteen percent of all purchases made generously benefited Winnetka Community House and this year’s November Show.
